Upgrade Proves Sound Investment for Nolan UPVC
Carmarthen-based fabricator, Nolan UPVC, has recently had the SBA Centre
from Haffner GB Ltd installed and has since reportedly increased volume
to 500 frames a week, reduced waste and improved manufacturing efficiencies
- all without increasing the manpower.
So what led Nolan UPVC to invest in the Haffner machine? 'Like many fabricators,
Nolan UPVC needed to resolve the dilemma of modern fabrication: how to
increase capacity without increasing manpower. To do this, they knew they
would have to upgrade or replace their existing machine ccntre and having
looked at what was on the market, it seemed that it was the SBA Cutting
Centre that best met their requirements.'
Jason James, General Manager of Nolan UPVC continued, 'Dave Thomas at
Haffner has a refreshing approach to business and we never felt he was
hiding anything or being anything less than honest with us during the
sales process. As a result, we always knew we were making the right decision
by investing in the SBA Centre. And everything that's happened since we
invested has proved us right - the Centre has helped our business immensely
and Haffner have offered nothing but honest and reliable support.'
The Machining Centre has indeed helped their business. Fabrication has
already increased but is likely to increase still further to 650 frames
a week in the next few months. The machine allows these increases to be
easily absorbed into the business. Indeed, since they needed three men
to do the work of what one man now does with the Centre, they're in the
fortunate position of having improved efficiencies as well.
All in all, with the new Centre in place, it seems that Nolan UPVC can
look forward to a profitable 2008!
