Windows Offer a New Outlook for Ipswich Residents
Sheerframe
fabricator and installer Norfolk Frames has won a long-term window replacement
contract with Ipswich Borough Council, which forms a key element of its
major refurbishment and improvement initiative, known as the Ipswich Standard.
Norfolk Frames is fabricating and installing Sheerframe casement windows
to replace the current aluminium single glazed windows fitted on Ipswich
Borough Council homes. This forms part of a seven-year partnership between
Norfolk Frames and Ipswich Borough Contracts on behalf of the council
under the Decent Homes programme.
Norfolk Frames has been contracted to install up to 1000 windows per annum
over the continuing programme. The specification will ensure a high standard
of window performance is achieved and maintained in the long term for
all council properties in the Ipswich area.
Doug Walden, the Senior Building Surveyor at Ipswich Borough Council,
says, Meeting the needs of present and future tenants is our main
aim throughout the refurbishment project. With Norfolk Frames' extensive
experience of working in social housing occupied properties we were confident
there would be limited disruption to our residents. We have already received
extremely positive feedback about the quality of the windows and the quick,
hassle-free installation.
Norfolk Frames installs a comprehensive range of high performing Sheerframe
window systems. All Sheerframe windows use a multi chambered profile system
and deliver enhanced thermal performance and a proven low maintenance,
long service life with a range of aesthetic benefits.
Paul Preston, the managing director at Norfolk Frames, says, Ipswich
Borough Council is embarking on a major refurbishment programme and we
are delighted to be involved. As a company we have carved a niche for
ourselves as a provider of decent homes standard doors and windows, working
on many similar contracts in the past.
The Sheerframe system allows us to provide high quality windows
that meet the key requirements of the decent homes standard - security,
sustainability, thermal efficiency, high performance and value for money.
