'Rattles Cages' of Doubters in UK
Gretsch-Unitas
UK managing director Paul Gerrard has issued a positive prognosis for
the future after his first 12 months in charge of the Coventry based company.
Paul
believes the company is in great shape to deliver on its ambitions heading
into the New Year, particularly having laid the foundations for success
with a number of new appointments and improvements to its headquarters.
He said: Market conditions have been challenging for the industry
as a whole this year, but I'm pleased with our performance and extremely
optimistic about the outlook for 2008.
Of course, as a responsible business we are constantly reviewing
our operation in order to become even more customer focused and responsive
to market needs.
That's one of the reasons why we have been so proactive in improving
our infrastructure - both in terms of our personnel and our company head
office in Coventry.
We've invested significant time and money in developing our premises
and we're delighted to have now officially unveiled our new showroom.
That provides us with the ideal platform from which to take forward the
business from our existing site in the years ahead.
We are also constantly looking to strengthen the team with new appointments
designed to improve our overall proposition. Customers have already felt
the benefit of that through our policy of going out and actively bringing
in some of the industry's best respected names.
That's been particularly apparent with the establishment of our
new Door Technology division, but the ramifications are also being felt
on the 'Window' side of the business and through the huge improvements
we've made to our Customer Service department.
We're not content to stop there though and we'll be announcing a
number of other key appointments over the coming weeks, which will help
strengthen all areas of the business going forward.
Behind the scenes we've been busy putting in place the structure
that I feel confident will ensure we are ready to really hit the ground
running come January. We have big ambitions for 2008 and I've no doubt
that we are well placed to deliver.
Meanwhile, Paul has laughed off isolated rumours about the long-term future
of the company.
He added: I find it laughable that certain individuals are insinuating
that we are no longer committed to maintaining a business in the UK. Nothing
could be further from the truth. We know who is responsible for these
malicious untruths. In many ways I consider it a compliment that we're
obviously rattling a few cages in the industry.
