What a Difference a Day Makes

When three big players in the glazing industry came together for an open day the result was highly rewarding for all those involved. Stern Fenster played host to a day that was attended by the company’s customers and supported by Promac Group (and Italian machinery partner, For.El) and Edgetech.

When it comes to the development of glass processing machinery, Italian-based machinery company For.El and its UK partner, Promac are building an enviable reputation as their latest project was unveiled at leading fabricator and glass processor, Stern Fenster.

The new fully automated Super Spacer® line now incorporates a new shape recognition system at the start of the line. This means that glass processors such as Stern Fenster can now process shaped units automatically online, without having to pre-programme the glass running order or machinery to do so. Another new development is the latest online quality control scanner, which checks that every piece of glass that the line processes is free from any optical defects such as seeds, smears and scratches. Both of these new developments can be integrated and then installed within an automated glass processing line.

Both these new developments are firsts for both For.El and Promac. Joe Hague, head of the glass processing at Promac comments: ‘It was a great day and an important one for all parties concerned. On the machinery side we continue to move a pace to bring the latest developments to the UK market. These latest ones are an important move forward for us and will also add significant credibility to Stern Fenster as it launches its new energy rated windows.’

We have a reputation for innovation and the fact that we have taken the world's first For.El line of this type reflects this proposition. We will be offering a 'B' rated window as standard and can also offer an 'A' rated window in volume.’
