Ultraframe Suppliers Celebrate Success

Conservatory roofing systems manufacturer Ultraframe recently held a Supplier Consultation Day at the company’s Clitheroe Head Office. Over 30 key suppliers attended the informative day, to learn details of Ultraframe's plans across the supply chain during 2008.

Head of Supply Chain Sian Howitt and her 13-strong team delivered against some ambitious targets during 2007, none of which would have been possible without the support of the suppliers. The Supplier Consultation Day thanked them for their assistance with meeting these targets and outlined plans for the 2008 Programme.

Sian commented ‘We wanted to share Ultraframe's company vision with our key suppliers, thank them for the support that they have given us over the last year and communicate our supply chain strategy for 2008. Working with our key suppliers in this way ensures that we are all aligned, allowing us to drive improvement activities, minimise waste and control cost right through the supply chain.’

Suppliers came from across the UK and Europe to learn about the company's future strategy from its Directors and managers - key Ultraframe departments such as Finance, R&D and Marketing were heavily involved. Feedback from attendees was extremely positive, with an overwhelming majority asking on the day when the next one would be taking place!

Sian Howitt concluded: ‘The team here at Ultraframe and all of our attendees found our first Supplier Consultation Day to be a great success. We believe that our suppliers are part of the team - Team Ultraframe - and only by working in close partnership with them, can we ensure that we are providing the best possible service to our customers. Through initiatives like the Consultation day and quarterly newsletters, we want to engage more dynamically with our suppliers. Every department in Ultraframe is focussed on providing service excellence to our customers and Supply Chain is no different. We have outlined our vision and targets for 2008 to our suppliers and look forward to reporting the results at the next Supplier Consultation day.’
