Pilkington Reorganises Operations in South West

Pilkington has announced a reorganisation of its downstream operations in the south west of England. The changes involve the closure and sale of the Pilkington Poole site at Alder Hills, Poole and the transfer of its glass processing to the larger site at Pilkington Bristol.

David Stoker, Commercial Director, Pilkington Building Products, said: 'All customers of our Poole site will continue to receive the high quality level of service and products they have come to expect from Pilkington via one of our other branches in the region.

'We aim to ensure that these changes occur seamlessly with no inconvenience to our customers. The closure of our Poole branch has been the result of lengthy consideration and the decision has been made with the needs of our customers and our future business in mind. All glass processing will move to our Bristol site, which is well placed to maintain and improve on service levels, with a wider product range and more advanced processing operations.'
