Windows Delivers Contemporary New Look to Sheltered Accommodation
Polar Windows,
a Profile 22 fabricator and installer of PVC-U windows, doors and conservatories
has delivered a new build project for Hanover Housing Association.
Commissioned
by Bramall Construction the project involved the supply and installation
of 193 PVC-U windows and doors and 19 curtain wall screens for the new
Extra Care Home in Leicester.
With extensive experience in delivering efficient PVC-U products to a
variety of markets, Polar used Profile 22's FI window and SK250 curtain
walling system. As a cost-effective and flexible system it provides the
perfect solution for commercial projects.
Alan Crowe, managing director, Polar Windows, said: With an excellent
project management team in place, we were able to deliver everything required
for this new build project and the end result was a durable, aesthetically-pleasing
building which was completed in just six months.
Polar Windows was chosen for the project because of its flexible approach,
innovative solutions and informative service. With everything under the
one roof, the team was able to meet all of the requirements of the new
build brief in full to include windows, doors and a curtain walling system,
with much of the profile required in grey.
Alan said: There were a number of challenges to be faced within
this large-scale project, particularly on the ground-floor as there was
coloured profile, specialist hardware and angled frames to address.
Electric
openers also needed to be fitted in the curtain walling and kitchen areas
to act as smoke vents. This meant liaising with a third party electrics
company to ensure that the electrical openers were compatible.
Despite the complexity of the project, Polar was able to address any challenges
that arose thanks to its adaptable approach. With a reliable group of
suppliers on hand Alan explains that it is easy to source the best materials
for each project. When existing contacts cannot meet the specifications,
Polar undertakes the research on behalf of its customers in order to find
them the most appropriate solutions to achieve the desired functionality
and aesthetics.
Alan added: By giving our customers access to everything they need
from the same company, they don't have to deal with more than one supplier
to achieve their targets and deadlines and this makes project management
much more straight-forward for everyone.
Andrew Reid, sales development director, Profile 22 said: The coloured
product range from Profile 22 gives more choice and new options to the
Social Housing market and this includes a wide selection of RAL colours
from heritage greens and burgundies through to greys and blacks.
Thanks to Polar's flexible project management, this complex project
was completed on schedule and resulted in a low-maintenance and cost-effective
Extra Care Home that looks great.
