Bring Giants Down To Size For A Dozen Straight Victories
St
Helens devastating form continued as Huddersfield Giants became
the latest opponent to fall victim, this time to a 46 - 16 annihilation
at Knowsley Road on Sunday. The Pilkington Activ sponsored Saints
were in the same rampant form that made short work of league leaders Leeds
Rhinos a week ago and which now saw Giants subjected to a demonstration
of dynamic attacking play that proved too much of a challenge for the
visitors lacklustre defence.
Doubles
from Saints stars Faasavalu and Talau contributed to a nine try
total with Keiron Cunningham once again showing strong leadership with
a fine game, notching up his 159th score for the club. A 28 6 half-time
score line gave the crowd a hint of what would follow in the second half,
but following early success, key players Long, Wellens and Graham were
retired from the proceedings and Saints coasted through the last half
hour denying themselves another 50+ pointer.
What was also remarkable was that no less than six of the seven Saints
players who turned out against Huddersfield had been in Toulouse on Friday
for Englands 56-8 winning romp against France, with fatigue only
becoming evident in the last 20 minutes by which time the result was beyond
question.
Such extraordinary team-work is what we are also seeking in the Pilkington
Activ search for the UK glass and glazing industrys top working
team who will enjoy a money-cant-buy work out with Saints prior
to their end of season grudge match against neighbours and arch-rivals
Wigan; VIP tickets at the game and the weekend at a top spa hotel, for

and Wales rugby union sides and currently with Saints on their motivational
training.
