Interbuild Empathises with East Exhibitions

Interbuild Event Director, James Gower, empathises with organisers East Exhibitions and all those impacted by news of the Timber Show's sudden cancellation.

The event, booked at ExCeL London for March 11-13, was cancelled by organiser East Exhibitions after being unsuccessful in securing additional funding to stage the show.

In a statement, East Exhibitions said it had now gone into liquidation and companies booked to exhibit have been informed.

‘I am deeply sorry for the upset and inconvenience that this action will cause,’ said director Martin Pearce on behalf of East Exhibitions.

The inaugural Timber Show took place in 2006 and atracted 63 exhibitors and about 1,000 visitors.

‘Last week's announcement that East Exhibitions has gone into liquidation
has obvious repercussions and I sympathise with all those disappointed by the news from a professional perspective' James Gower said.

‘In response, we have negotiated a special arrangement for exhibitors that had already signed-up and made a financial commitment to the Timber Show.

‘There are huge opportunities for timber companies at Interbuild 2008 and I'm pleased to be in a position where I can offer those affected some tangible compensation.

‘With a renewed focus on the Timber Zone at this year's show it's set to become a real centre piece attraction. We have purposely relocated the Architects' area into the centre of Hall 5's structural setting. Timber Zone will now sit alongside this dramatic feature benefiting from a prime spot from which to target architects, specifiers and designers.

‘The Timber Zone is a highly successful area of the show and in-line with the ongoing sustainability theme, timber solutions will continue to have a high profile presence at Interbuild. We are bringing in a number of new additions, including a house and commercial building, in which timber will be an important structural element. Interbuild is all about real, live, business-to-business and the overarching story behind these two structures will be showcasing sustainable solutions relevant to the 'here and now'.

‘Indeed, there are a number of ways in which timber companies can have a prominent presence and I look forward to working with them to make Interbuild 2008 a successful show for us all.’

In order to take advantage of special offers for Timber Show exhibitors, companies will be required to produce proof of contract. Interested parties should contact Loretta Sales on Tel: 020 8870 8794 or Email: lorettasales@tiscali.co.uk
