LBD
Partnership Ltd Investigated by Trading Standards
Lead by Design, a major supplier of insulating glass
units from its two factories in Witham and Dedham was recently visited
by an officer from Trading Standards. This arose from a complaint from
an anonymous source which had a suspicion that the company may not be
complying with the European Standard EN 1279; compliance of which has
been mandatory since the 1st March 2007.
Nathan Morris, Managing Director of LBD Partnership Ltd, was pleased to
show the officer the companys excellent manufacturing facilities
and all the necessary documentation which proved full compliance with
EN 1279, the Trading Standards Officer left satisfied that everything
was in order.
Nathan commented: We had our units tested to EN 1279 including full
implementation of all the processes to comply with this Standard a number
of years ago and more recently have engaged the services of CENSolutions
Ltd, a leading consultancy and testing company, to ensure that we fulfil
our legal obligations at both of our factories. Following the companys
initial audit in July 2007 we were awarded its CMS Quality Mark which
has allowed us to be recognised by bodies such as the NHBC as providing
units suitable for contracts under its control. We are extremely pleased
that Trading Standards have responded to the complaint made, as it has
given us the opportunity to satisfy them and the complainant that we are
fully compliant with the current regulations.
