Even
More Deliveries as GAP Invests in Fleet
To ensure each of its 11 depots always have the products
installers need, GAP has invested in two new articulated lorries bringing
its fleet up to 62 vehicles. The new lorries will be used to increase
the capacity of GAP's overnight deliveries into each of its depots, from
its central distribution warehouse in Blackburn.
The new improved service will mean GAP customers get exactly what they
want, when they want it, in the quantities they need it.

Not
having any Class 1 registered drivers, GAP opted to offer training to
several existing 7.5 tonne drivers rather than recruiting new drivers.
Three drivers to date have so far passed with flying colours. GAP's very
own Transport Manager Mick Skinner also put his driving skills to the
test, to ensure he understood every aspect of the newly added vehicle
to the fleet.
During a typical day, GAP makes over 600 deliveries to its customers with
the record standing at 1,024 in a single day.
'It is important our customers can rely on us to get the products they
need, when they need them," says Mick. 'GAP prides itself on high
levels of customer service and investing in our fleet of vehicles and
staff means we can make even more deliveries to keep ahead of demand.'
