REHAU
Announces A Rated Window - Fully Reinforced
REHAU has announced what it believes is an industry
first with a BFRC A rated window in a standard profile suite with full
reinforcement.
The
REHAU Edge 70mm system has been independently confirmed to be able to
achieve an A rating either with standard reinforcement for white windows
or fully reinforced for coloured windows.
This means REHAU Edge customers can now produce A rated windows with no
additional stock holding, no special bead requirement since they are based
on 28mm units and no additional fabrication processes on the shop floor.
Advancements in both the profile and glass technology have enabled REHAU
to offer its fabricators this significant opportunity to exploit the growing
market for high performance windows.
They will be able to target both the retail sector where consumers are
already familiar with the ABC Rating scheme and the commercial sector
where A rated windows can be used by specifiers as a net contributor to
the energy demand of a building.
The REHAU Tritec and S706 70mm systems can achieve similar A ratings with
standard reinforcement using a different sealed unit and/or warm edge
spacer bar combination, so REHAU is stepping up its campaign to encourage
all its fabricators to take advantage of the new sales opportunities which
the ratings represent.
Ralf Winterling, Technical Manager - Customer Service at REHAU, says:
Fabricators can now easily produce A, B and C rated windows using
the REHAU systems, all of which can be promoted with the instantly recognisable
'Energy Saving Recommended' certification mark from the Energy Saving
Trust.
In a difficult market, this has enormous sales potential and we
are encouraging our customers to focus on this and supporting them in
the certification process and with new sales literature and new advertisements.
