SAS Hybrid Wins Best Product Award
Senior Aluminium Systems (SAS) has launched Hybrid -
a brand new concept in aluminium-timber façade supply and winner
of the Glassex and GP&T award for Best New Window Product.
Comprising
a range of composite windows, doors and curtain walling, the new SAS Hybrid
System combines the long life and low maintenance of aluminium externally
with all the benefits of engineered timber internally. But what makes
it different is that it is available to fabricators in bar length form.
Launched at Glassex, the new system has already won plaudits from the
industry judges at the Glassex and GP&T awards who said: 'This product
was selected because of its fast availability, thermal efficiency, low
U-values and durability.'
Says SAS sales and marketing director, Steve Wightman: 'Hybrid received
an incredible reception when we launched it at Glassex and we were delighted
with the award. Other aluminium-timber options have to be bought as a
finished product. Ours doesn't, making it more flexible than anything
else currently available.'
The Hybrid options provide a number of further benefits including fast
availability as the timber for the internal frames is available ex-stock.
The aluminium external frames are also available in virtually any polyester
colour thanks to SAS's in-house powder coating system at its facility
in Doncaster.
Says Steve Wightman: 'Thermal efficiency is a big benefit. Hybrid windows
offer the thermal efficiency of timber, which, combined with the latest
glass technology, produces U-Values that are well below current and anticipated
building regulation requirements.
'This is a very high quality system: All our service centres are fully
ISO9000 accredited and the machinery necessary to fabricate Hybrid is
only available at SAS ensuring consistency of quality.'
The new Hybrid products are low maintenance, meaning that they are easy
to keep and sustain across the life cycle of a building. With pre-treated
engineered timber internally, there is no possibility of warping or twisting,
and externally the product has the proven benefits of powder-coated aluminium.
Both the timber and aluminium are from sustainable sources and at the
end of their service life the timber, glass, aluminium and fittings are
all fully recyclable.
Hybrid System windows are available in fixed light, casement, tilt and
turn and overswing configurations, alongside both doors and curtain walling.
Says Steve Wightman: 'Hybrid is a really exciting product for us, combining
the positives of both timber and aluminium in building. This product has
been a long time coming and we were delighted to launch it at Glassex
this year.'
Senior Aluminium Systems also picked up the Glassex and GP&T Best
of Show award for stands sized 51 - 150m2.
