SAS
Experiment Plays Right Tune
A
music and science block at a secondary school in Harrogate is now hitting
all the right notes thanks to a £900,000 makeover from Senior
Aluminium Systems.
SAS worked in partnership with fabricators Skipton Glass to create the
right chemistry for the revamp at Granby High School on Ainstry Road,
where all the curtain walling and windows were replaced.
The refurbishment project, undertaken over three years for North Yorkshire
County Council, was a challenge for SAS whose brief was to create a
modern, clean and thermally efficient building for pupils at the School.
Senior's SCW aluminium curtain wall with blue aluminium panels spans
the height of the building and includes casement windows which meet
the thermal requirements set out by Part L of the Building Regulations.
Chosen for its superior durability and high performance qualities, SCW
is a proven cost effective solution for low to mid-rise applications,
in particular schools. SD doors, with the added benefit of anti trap
finger detail, were also featured throughout.
Independently owned, Senior Aluminium Systems offers a one-stop aluminium
and powder coating service for the architectural aluminium glazing market.
Providing high performance glazing products with a responsive and personal
service, SAS operates from three service centres in Denaby Main, Newport
and Livingston.
