WHS Halo's System 10 Goes from Strength to Strength

WHS Halo has re-engineered its popular System 10 PVC-U profile range to develop what is effectively a new system - and one, like its predecessor, that is designed to provide the maximum flexibility for fabricators and installers alike. The new suite now makes System 10 - popularly identified with, and immensely strong in, the commercial sector - an ideal choice for retail applications too.

Primary changes to System 10 concern the beading system, casement sash design, door sash design, reinforcement design, large T & Z transoms, PCE gasket form and square bay poles. However, the system also maintains many of its existing key and popular features to maximise the ease of changeover by current users.

Continuity and confidence in the system is maintained through the main profile sizes, product range, frame appearance, 'top hat' fixing method, hardware location, the advanced drainage system and WHS Halo double rebate composite door compatibility.

Most importantly, System 10 now offers a choice of sculptured or chamfered profiles and - at a stroke - sash sections are rendered interchangeable and compatible with WHS Halo's Rustique system.

This total interchangeability not only gives fabricators and retail installers huge design and sales flexibility from a tight number of core profiles; but also reduces stocking and installation complexity as the number of parts and ancillaries common to all systems increase.

The suite allows for the production of a full range of windows and doors - including 'traditional' items such as casements and tilt 'n' turns; but now also encompasses new, market-driving introductions such as open-out French casement windows.

Based on a range of new 70mm or 62mm sculptured and chamfered sections, new System 10 offers comprehensive interchangeability of sashes, beads, ancillaries, reinforcements, mouldings, hardware and so on; providing low stock holding potential for the fabricator. For instance: only one steel reinforcement profile is needed to fit both the System 10 and Rustique suites. Furthermore, manufacturing and installation methods for both styles are the same - further enhancing the convenience of handling the system, whether alone or in association with other WHS Halo profiles.

This interchangeability in sash sections gives fabricators an opportunity to increase sales and profits by offering installers a flexible range of style and product options within a compact stock family. It also similarly gives retailers a competitive advantage in the sit by enabling them to give home-owners the ability to personalise their windows and find a style that suits their own tastes.

Not only does profile interchangeability aid sales, but the new 62mm section also delivers an enhanced outer frame appearance with alternate sash widths of 70 and 75mm. This not only gives a sight line that matches and is consistent with the company's other profiles; but also delivers the desirable slimline sash aesthetic - whether for windows or French doors - that is most popular on the high street.

Glazing options across all profiles are 24, 28 and 32mm, afforded by the fitter-friendly and secure - to BS 7950 - single leg beads. An improved PCE design, with a new weatherseal 'flipper' and 3mm glazing pad; can offer staggering manufacturing savings to the fabricator.
WHS Halo's System 10 - like the company's Eclipse, Eclipse esthétique and Rustique suites - has always comprised a comprehensive range of products; but the re-engineering has presented the ideal opportunity to revisit some old ones, and introduce some new ones.

The primary new introduction is a stylish slimline sash outward opening French casement window. This type of window is obviously ubiquitous in Europe; and it is long overdue for introduction to the UK market. Not only does it look good - and is perfect for townhouses and similar properties - but also fulfills other requirements like means of emergency egress.

System 10 has already proved its performance, value and popularity - primarily in the commercial sector - and the new re-engineered sculptured and chamfered suite is bound to prove equally successful in the wider retail environment; especially when combined with WHS Halo's established Rustique, Eclipse and Eclipse esthétique offers.

Its development is further evidence of WHS Halo's commitment to investment in the sector; and proof of its strength as one of the few businesses capable of innovation and growth in an increasingly challenging market.
