SIEGENIA-AUBI
- Fit for the Future
Cutbacks and closures? Not at SIEGENIA-AUBI. The hardware
manufacturer is celebrating the acquisition by its parent company of cylinder
lock manufacturer, FCV.
This is the group's second acquisition in 18 months. In 2006, SIEGENIA-AUBI
KG acquired locking systems company, Karl Fliether Velbert (KFV).
Now, the SIEGENIA-AUBI group has acquired Fliether & Co. GmbH (FCV)
- KFV's former sister company - which will give it control over the manufacture
of door lock cylinders for the UK and other markets.
UK general manager Léann Hearne says the acquisition reflects the
SIEGENIA-AUBI culture of taking the long-term view:
We're in it for the long haul, she says. Others may
be cutting back, but SIEGENIA-AUBI is investing in the future. Following
our expansion into the door lock market through KFV, cylinders have become
a vital component in our manufacturing process. As everyone tightens their
belts, we didn't want to be forced down the route of sourcing product
from the Far East.
Acquiring FCV's manufacturing expertise will enable us to keep production
in house and maintain the quality on which SIEGENIA-AUBI has built its
reputation.
The move sees the SIEGENIA-AUBI UK product portfolio strengthened once
again. The business has developed its product range in recent years from
a tilt/turn-led hardware portfolio to incorporate KFV door locks, the
Trident casement window product, the FS Portal folding sliding door hardware
and best-selling Axxent aluminium hardware system.
These products - amongst others - were all on show at Glassex, where SIEGENIA-AUBI
exhibited with distributor, Mila Hardware.
