Interbuild Cements CAB's Longstanding Support of Show

The Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB) is back at Interbuild for the third year running, with a focus on highlighting the metal's strong environmental credentials.

Research shows that awareness of the 'CAB Aluminium in Construction Zone' at Interbuild was at a 70% high in 2007, compared with 41% at the previous event. The CAB attributes this growing awareness to its strong brand, close relationship with show organisers, EMAP Construct, and a focus on joint-venture marketing initiatives.

‘The number of exhibiting CAB member companies trebled last show and stand space saw a near 75 per cent increase, with the Aluminium in Construction Zone occupying a 1,000 square metre area,’ says CAB Chief Executive Justin Ratcliffe.

‘This exponential growth is testament to our year-round support of the show and our members' presence at Interbuild. With half the space already confirmed and further plans afoot to extend the area, we're enthused by the reception so far and envisage another record-breaking Interbuild for CAB.’

Upon news of Interbuild's annual announcement the association swiftly signed-up for the 2008 show (Sunday 26th through to Thursday 30th October) with a significant number of exhibitor member companies quick to follow suit.

As aluminium in building has continued to see a real resurgence - despite the current challenging business environment - CAB remains confident that the sector will remain buoyant overall.

‘Our aim is to maintain awareness of the availability and opportunities for aluminium in construction, as well as its contribution to the ongoing sustainability debate,’ says Justin. ‘Interbuild offers us a tactic to communicate these key messages to a targeted, captive audience in a meaningful and relevant way.’

The opportunity to meet with companies representing the complete supply chain - from fabricators to machinery suppliers - also makes Aluminium in Construction an attractive visitor experience. Architects and specifiers can seek expert advice from the CAB team, who are present throughout the duration of the show, to give expert advice on standards, regulations and best practice.

‘The Aluminium area will continue to enjoy a prime position in Hall 5's structural setting and we're looking at creating stronger links with doors and windows, which will benefit both areas,’ says Interbuild Event Director, James Gower.

‘Aluminium will also have a high profile presence in new features, including a school and an 'eco' themed house. Our aim is to explore sustainable solutions for the 'here and now' by showcasing relevant products within these impressive, on-site structures.

‘I value CAB's continuing support and look forward to working alongside the team to make the most of their involvement in Interbuild 2008.’
