UK Backs Local Care Home in Quest to Win Leeds in Bloom
Safestyle
UK has again demonstrated the company's commitment to supporting
great causes with a donation of £1000.00 to a Pudsey-based specialist
care home for the disabled run by the Leonard Cheshire Disability Charity.
The Charity supports over 21,000 disabled people throughout the UK and
aims to change attitudes to disability and to serve disabled people around
the world.
This year the charity celebrates its 60th anniversary and to mark this
special occasion, the staff and residents at Champion House, Pudsey near
Leeds have been nominated for entry into the 'Leeds in Bloom' business
and community competition.
Open to all residents, businesses and charities in Leeds, the competition
aims to promote a sense of pride in gardens of all shapes and sizes
a greener city leading to a greener environment.
A perfect concept as far as Safestyle UK was concerned which itself is
trying to combat climate change with the company's state of the art range
of energy saving windows and doors.
Steve Birmingham, Managing Director of Safestyle UK commented:
'As a company we are constantly approached for sponsorship and donations
and its very difficult deciding upon which requests to assist, especially
given the countless number of highly worthy causes out there.
'However, The Leonard Cheshire request for assistance stood out immediately
as it wasnt just a request for donations to assist themselves, but
was also a request for assistance in helping the staff and residents of
the home to create something that can be seen and enjoyed by everyone
in their local community.
Sandra Watmuff, of Champion House and organiser of its entry into the
Leeds in Bloom competition added:
'All the residents and staff at Champion House thank Safestyle UK for
the company's generous support of our gardening project for the Leeds
in Bloom competition. It is only with the support from companies such
as Safestyle UK that we can enhance the quality of service we can provide.
Once again, thank you Safestyle.'
The Leeds in Bloom competition will climax later this summer with judging
taking place throughout July.
