Paragon
Approval for New Virtuoso Tape
Paragon
Joinery has given its official approval to a new glazing tape from
Tremco-illbruck that has been developed specifically for use with
its new Virtuoso timber window system.
The
new Virtuoso profiles from Paragon are available in a timber-only
version or with an external Renolit PVC foil. A range of profiles
is available which require no painting or varnishing whilst giving
the appearance of traditional painted or varnished wood.
To enhance the security of the new high performance timber profiles
Tremco-illbruck has introduced the new Virtuoso security glazing tape,
which Paragon is now recommending to its fabricators.
The Virtuoso tape comprises a high quality closed cell foam coated
on both sides with a powerful pressure sensitive adhesive that is
both UV and moisture resistant for effective long term performance.
The tape has high elasticity and its cohesive strength ensures that
an extremely durable and long lasting seal is created between the
glazed unit and the profile, effectively bonding the glass into the
timber system.
Quick and easy to apply, the Virtuoso tape incorporates a special
non-tearing filmic liner to aid positioning of the tape during assembly
of the window system.
Also available from Tremco-illbruck for use with the Virtuoso system
is the Webbseal 56LM, low modulus neutral curing silicone that is
used to cap off the tape.
The use of laminated timber in the Virtuoso range means that the frames
are over 33% more stable and less likely to move or distort than traditional
frames. The use of laminated timber profiles means the system makes
substantial savings over the cost of manufacturing traditional window
frames.
Tremco-illbruck was formed by the merger of Tremco Ltd. and illbruck
Sealant Systems Ltd.
