Schüco Sets New Thermal Standards with Royal C System

New from Schüco International is Royal C, a compact aluminium window system whose ‘Uf’ value of 2.8 W/m2K sets new standards for a 60mm profile. ‘This unbeatable level of performance, which is combined with a highly competitive price, means that Royal C will be welcomed by fabricators with budget-conscious customers needing to meet stringent Part L Building Regulations standards.’ says the company.

Schüco’s first new window system of the new millennium fits between the company’s existing Royal S50 and Royal S65 ranges. It has been designed to be easy to fabricate and to install and includes labour-saving features such as a pre-engineered gasket channel that obviates the need for liquid sealant. A combined nail or crimp cleat virtually eliminates the possibility of mistakes and also saves on valuable shelf space.

In addition to standard Royal C, there is Royal C HI, a special high-insulation version with a ‘Uf’ value of 2.1 W/m2K. Both versions can be supplied with or without pre-inserted isolators, enabling fabricators to improve their margins to customers by rolling profiles at their own works.

Royal C offers both inward- and outward-opening windows in a wide variety of
top-, bottom- and side-hung opening styles including tilt-turn, turn-tilt, horizontal or vertical pivots and top swing. It offers concealed fittings on every open-in window type and is fully compatible with Schüco’s RS 65 range of aluminium doors.

Royal C offers optional outer frame profiles that allow any moisture to drain away through concealed holes beneath the frame and not through slots in the outer face: drainage hole cover caps are no longer needed. Gaskets have been re-engineered and repositioned to make the draining action as swift and efficient as possible.

The system offers a range of four glazing beads, two with true mitres which are achieved without having to cut the final bead. For added aesthetic appeal, gaskets are available in grey as well as black. Royal C windows satisfy BS EN standards on weather performance and have a security rating up to WK2 from BS EN 1627.
