With the dedication to supporting the new build and public sector refurbishment programmes, Maco has put considerable effort into producing the R.A.I.L window Espagnolette locking system, a cost-effective (suitable for affordable housing projects) product that gives the potential for all windows to comply with the BS7950 security standard.

R.A.I.L is a fast fix system, which is installed into the window as per a standard Espagnolette. The symmetrical design ensures a fast and simple fabrication process through single plane fitting which removes the necessity to rotate the sash during fabrication. A reduced number of Mushroom Striker Plates are required compared with conventional BS7950 locking systems and Shootbolt Striker Plates are no longer required.

Security is gained by the provision of up to three pairs of Mushroom Locking Bolts operating simultaneously. On closing the window, the Mushroom Bolts enter either side of a standard Maco Mushroom Striker Plate ensuring that the locking points remain fully engaged during attack.

The design of the new R.A.I.L is fully compatible with all Eurogrooved window systems and with Maco having the widest range of Striker Plates on offer means that the product is available to nearly all PVCu, timber and aluminium window fabricators.

The development of the R.A.I.L locking system first appeared on the now tried and tested Maco Mach II Shootbolt Espagnolette. With this as its pedigree, well established over a number of years, Maco customers will be assured of the quality and performance that comes as standard when specifying or using Maco products.
