Confidence,
Flexibility and Versatility Guaranteed with Kawneer's AA®100 Curtain
Wall System
Kawneer,
the UK manufacturer and supplier of architectural aluminium systems,
has launched the AA®100 curtain wall system, combining greater flexibility
of design, outstanding performance and an addition in supporting the
industry with its dry jointed system for multiple façade applications.
Available
in both zone and mullion drained options, Kawneer's AA®100 curtain
wall system provides a dry jointed façade solution that does
not need on-site sealants to ensure system performance and, as a direct
result, installation is not dictated by weather conditions.
This high performance system, suitable for all commercial building applications,
has been tested and certified to the Standard for Curtain Walling Sequence
B in accordance with the recommended methods of the Centre for Window
and Cladding Technology (CWCT). This guarantees effective weathering
performance in the most stringent conditions, while maintaining aesthetics
through slim sightlines.
Flexibility of design to suit individual project needs is achievable
through a variety of standard depth mullion, transom and thermal break
options, while fast and efficient fabrication and installation is guaranteed,
thanks to this dry jointed system, the overall benefit is reduced operation
in fabrication, assembly and on-site installation in comparison to conventional
curtain wall systems.
Accommodating glazing and panels from 2mm to 40mm, the AA®100 curtain
wall system is available in over 130 standard and 31 metallic Kawneer
Permacover polyester powder paint finishes. A comprehensive range of
Kawneer Permanodic® standard and coloured anodised finishes are
also available, all covered by Kawneer's standard guarantee, providing
unlimited versatility in design.
Improved thermal performance with 20/26mm thermal breaks also ensures
Kawneer's new system meets the stringent requirements of Part L and
Part J (Scotland) of the Building Regulations, while testing up to 46dB
in line with DIN EN 20140-3 guarantees effective sound reduction. Specifiers
can also be confident in the AA®100s fire performance, tested
to PR EN 1364-3 for 30 minutes integrity and 30 minutes insulation.
The AA®100 is a European engineered system, manufactured in the
UK and tested to stringent UK market requirements. This system also
utilised resources from Alcoa's European Building and Construction System
design teams.
Tony Corcoran, Product Marketing Manager at Kawneer commented: 'The
performance of standard curtain wall systems is dependent upon the quality
of installation in what are often uncontrolled conditions. In addressing
this, we have designed an innovative dry jointed system, which removes
the un-controlled elements, such as on-site sealing, which act upon
the success of the system's performance.
'Following in depth market research, the new AA®100 curtain wall
system incorporates the latest design and technical innovations available
from within the global curtain walling industry today.
'By offering a choice of construction methods, including zone-drainage,
mullion drainage, a fire rated solution and structural silicone glazed,
the new AA®100 Series enables architects, assisted by Kawneer, to
identify the optimum curtain walling solutions for a buildings
specific requirements. With all construction methods being utilised
from the same structural grid, our customers can carry less inventory.
'Overall, the new AA®100 is an innovative system that allows greater
flexibility of design, outstanding performance and speed and ease of
fabrication and installation thanks to its unique dry jointed capabilities.'
As a major sponsor and contributor of the CWCT's training strategy,
all Kawneer products are fabricated and installed by a network of trained
authorised Kawneer dealers, offering national support at a local level.
