Eurocell
Launches Push-Fit Cavity Closer
Eurocell's
newly launched Cavity Closer provides a quick, user-friendly and efficient
method of closing cavities around openings in masonry walls and doors,
preventing the occurrence of thermal bridging, and forms a damp-proof
barrier preventing cold bridging, condensation and mould growth.
The company says that unlike the many modular, clip-together systems currently on the market, Eurocell's Cavity Closer comprises push-fit components which slot cleanly together, giving it better strength and rigidity properties.
The system's push-fit construction also means that it can be quickly and easily assembled on site without the need for additional tools or equipment.
Available in 75mm and 100mm industry standard profile sizes, each variant comes with either a T-upstand for external fitting, or without for internal fitting.
The Cavity Closer features four edge members and four corner mouldings. The corners slot into the edge mouldings, allowing all profiles to be square cut and giving a secure tight fit with no mitres or welding required. PVC brick ties are used to mechanically join the closure to the structure.
Available
in 6m bar lengths, which can be cut-to-fit, the Closer can accommodate
any window type, including wood which has a front to back dimension
of 60mm or more.
The Cavity Closer replaces the timber form traditionally used to stabilise
window frames during new build, the only difference being that the Cavity
Closer stays in place once building is complete and the windows are
fitted directly into it.
Although Eurocell's Cavity Closer has been designed to work in conjunction with the company's own windows, it is also compatible with most other window and door systems.
Eurocell's
Cavity Closer is undergoing full BBA assessment, with full certification
due later this year. The system is available now ex-stock.
