Bohle Expands Glass Drilling Range

Bohle’s manufacturing expertise, dating back more than 80 years, has now been applied to the development of a new collection of drilling machines. Unveiled at Glasstec 2004, these latest additions ensure the precise and effective production of drill holes and are available direct from Bohle UK’s dedicated machinery sales and support division based in Manchester.

One of the key players in Bohle’s new drilling range is the Super Drill Eco 2/1000-2a, capable of drilling glass thicknesses from 3mm to 20mm (40mm single-sided). Developed specifically for what Bohle calls the ‘midfield’, this double-sided machine has digital forward feed of the upper and lower drill heads. In addition to offering value for money, it features user-friendly adjustability and a reach of 1000mm. It also has variable speed control, from 250 to 3600 rpm, plus easy adjustment when changing tools. A variety of optional supplementary equipment is also available, including different table sizes, stopper system and positioning laser. A semi-automatic model (1a) with mechanical forward feed is also available on request.

The Eco glass drilling machines offer a cost-effective alternative to Bohle’s new
top-of-the-range Super Drill 2/1300, designed to satisfy even the most demanding applications. This fully automatic driller is available with or without an integrated digital glass sheet positioning system. Automatic positioning systems are indispensable in achieving optimum precision during horizontal drilling of small and medium-sized glass sheets, as well as special glass. More than 50 programs, with 30 different drill settings each, can be saved on the positioning system’s memory card. Drilling data can even be recorded on a PC away from the machine. As an additional feature, a display on the drilling machine, shown either as a picture or table as preferred, makes the operator’s job easier and provides visual clarification.

Gary Dean, Managing Director of Bohle UK, comments: ‘With these latest developments, Bohle is demonstrating its continuing commitment to providing glaziers and glass processing shops with high quality, easy to operate equipment at an affordable price.’
