Beaufort's
Two-Part Cill Reduces Risk of Damage
A
Two-Part Cill System from Beaufort Secure Design now reduces the risk
of damage to external aluminium cills during window installation on
site.
The new System is fitted in two simple stages. The first part, consisting
of the combined drainage tray and receiving channel, snap fits to
the bottom of the window. The second part is the nosing, which can
be installed and end caps fitted after trades such as pebble dashers
and bricklayers have finished work.
Beaufort's Two-Part Cill System features a dedicated drainage path
incorporated into the tray that is concealed by drainage covers. The
nosing is available in a variety of sizes up to an overall width of
290mm. A range of end caps completes the System and can all be colour
matched.

The
System is a solution for both new build and commercial refurbishment
projects and brings many benefits to all parties. For fabricators,
there is less chance of conflict arising from damaged cills. It eliminates
the need to obtain pressed steel cills for a project and on special
colour projects all sections are painted together eliminating the
risk of colour and finish variation.
From the installers' point of view, the new Cill System means no more
claims for damaged cills. Beaufort has also made installation quick
and easy - the drainage tray simply snaps fit to the window and is
then fitted as normal. At the end of the project, the nosing is snap
inserted into a ribbed receiving U channel in the tray and the end
caps fitted.
End user benefits include better drainage appearance, and Beaufort's
design allows the window to be set further back into the reveal, which
is a particular benefit for clad buildings and also reduces cold spot
formation. In addition, handover is not delayed because of disputes
with sub contractors over damaged cills.
Nigel Yates, Beaufort's Managing Director comments: This exclusive
System has been developed in direct response to end user demand following
disputes over damage liability. The new build sector has been especially
reluctant to use aluminium cills because of the risk of damage, but
now with our Two-Part Cill that's no longer a problem. Indeed, we're
already seeing substantial trade take up of the System, which is now
available as a standard stock item.
