New
Auto Arrissing (Seaming) Concept from Ashton Industrial
In
response to demand from clients for fully automatic seaming of mixed
random lite sizes (custom tempering) at a more affordable price, Ashton
Industrial has developed an entirely new seaming concept to fit the
bill - and to fit factory areas where space is at a premium.
The new SeamMaX-X concept requires just half the space, and is a third
lower in capital cost than a full FastTrack layout.
Two parallel glass edges are processed simultaneously on each of two
legs which are linked by an automatic 90-degree transfer. New technology
allows the moving seamers on each leg to fully automatically seek and
find the edges of random size lites at very high speed, with absolutely
no manual intervention. Patent applications have been filed.
Lites are transported through the seaming stations using Ashton's successful
vacuum belts. These suck the glass firmly on to the moving transport
belts, resisting slippage to produce a perfect seam with no contact
at all with the upper glass surface, an invaluable feature when processing
coated glass.
The seaming heads are a further development of Ashton's world-wide renowned
heavy duty machines, making use of the companys many years of
experience operating totally reliable high performance lines that run
non-stop day and night.
The whole line is constructed from non-rusting stainless steel and large
dimensioned aluminium extrusions, exploiting all the benefits of wet
diamond belt grinding.
Options of automatic corner dubbing, edge deletion and laser logo marking
can all be specified with no cycle time penalty.
The first SeamMaX-X line will be installed at the prestigious BALINK
glass processing facility in northern Holland in June 2006
